White Dog - Recent Failures
White Dog is a drone/noise unit from Winnipeg Canada.
We have been in existence since 2003, but have recently emerged from a two year hibernation. The sounds we make incorporate the freedom of punk rock and Anarchic principals with meditative and reflective qualities inherent in drone. Initially, we would use a cut up method of taking a larger recording, chopping it up, throwing the pieces in the air as it were, and re-attaching the best bits. More recently, White Dog has been a solo adventure focusing on using electronics, contact mics, thumb pianos, chord organs, and temple bells to achieve a sound that can be recorded and produced live as well. The main criteria used in determining whether or not a piece is suitable for release is whether or not it allows the listener to clear their mind… I would like to consider the following pieces Zen noise.
White Dog was meant to be a collaborative and interactive entity… your input on future projects is wanted and welcomed.
